   1. Listening and understanding
   2. Preparation and structure
   3. Distraction and direction
   4. Ritual and rhythm

		<description>My son is now sixteen so maybe this post isn&#039;t directed so much at his age group.  However, I would say that constant negotiation and clear agreements work best for him.  Maybe these two skills come under the umbrella of all four of your ways of nurturing.</description>
